CONWY WALK & RUN
Conwy Mountain Ridge Walk
The classic short Conwy Mountain walk. Heading up the Conwy mountain ridge and descending via the traverse. It's a stunning little loop.
Directions:
-
Head downhill from the YHA. Immediately turn left onto Cadnant Park Road. Take the next left turn and head up Mountain Road.
-
A little way up after the white house on a terrace turn right up the narrow footpath between the bushes and head over the style.
-
Follow this footpath up and round to the left and up onto the ridgeline. Continue along the ridgeline towards the summit. Near the top you'll have a choice of clambering up the boulders to the summit or following a path to the right. My preference is to clamber up the rocks.
-
Follow the rocks along the top to the summit which once was an old mountain fort.
-
Continue across the summit plateua.
-
Shortly after the summit plateau there is a path to the left, take this path, this drops you down to the traverse route.
-
Turn left onto the traverse route and follow the path back down eventually to Mountain Road and continue down to Cadnant park Road.
-
Turn right at Cadnant Park Road and follow it up hill to Sychnant Pass and up to the YHA.
